The Reuben Foundation’s contribution will serve to support Racing Welfare’s work on behalf of the often forgotten people in the horseracing sport – namely the stable, stud and racecourse staff.
The Reuben Foundation’s purchase of a colt of the famous racehorse Zamindar for one year supports Racing Welfare as well as The Great Ormand Street Children’s hospital of which the Reuben Foundation is a long-term supporter. The horse has been named ‘Great Ormond’ – any prize money won by the horse will go to supporting Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, London

Roger Weatherby the Chairman of Racing Welfare:
“We are delighted to be a part of the Reuben Foundation’s first foray into racehorse ownership. Racing Welfare is indebted to the generosity of Marwan Koukash and the Reuben Foundation. It is extremely fitting that the funds raised via ‘Great Ormond’s’ sale will go directly to support the Charity’s work on behalf of the horsemen and women who work so hard, 365 days a year to nurture, train and care for horses like this colt.”
Tim Johnson, Executive Director of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity:
“We are absolutely thrilled to be the beneficiaries of this wonderful gesture by the Reuben Foundation. The Reuben family have been dear friends of Great Ormond Street Hospital for many years and this latest pledge of support will hopefully enable us to provide even more advanced care for some of the UK’s sickest children and their families. As a charity we have always been lucky to have a strong link and community of supporters within the UK racing fraternity and I am sure that they, like us, will be looking forward to cheering on Great Ormond over the course of the coming season.”
