Reuben Foundation presentation to Welsh Guards Afghanistan Appeal at Northern Racing’s Chepstow Racecourse

30 December 2009

BBC Television

Chepstow Racecourse is working with the Welsh Guards Afghanistan Appeal to raise funds today.

The Reuben Brothers – the owners of Northern Racing and in turn Chepstow Racecourse – have very generously donated £10,000 through the Reuben Foundation to the Appeal.

This donation, along with all the other funds that are raised today, will go towards providing medical and psychological help for seriously wounded Welsh Guards as well as to the families and dependants of Welsh Guards who have lost their lives in Afghanistan.

We are joined today by Michael Howard, the chairman of Northern Racing, who will present Mrs Sally Thorneloe, who lost her husband Colonel Rupert Thorneloe this year in Afghanistan, with a cheque for £10,000 from the Reuben Foundation towards the Appeal.
