The Lyric Hammersmith’s plans to refurbish and extend its west London home have been given a boost with the announcement of a “major grant from health care and education charity the Reuben Foundation. The funding will see the twin-auditorium venue’s extension which will include drama, dance and recording studios, an editing suite, a film and TV studio, costume, storage and workshop and o ice spaces named the Reuben Foundation Wing.
The project, which seeks to build on the Lyric’s position as the first cultural organisation to be awarded a three-star Industry Green sustainability rating, has already raised more than £16 million.
